Alan Menken is admirable for many reasons. Many people do not realize this, but Alan Menken has made a significant impact on the childhood of more recent generations, having composed music for over 11 Disney movies, such as Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and more recently, Tangled. He has won 8 Oscars, making him the man who has won the most Oscars. He has been nominated for many more awards, for instance, in 1995, he won the Annie award for Best Individual Achievement for Music in the Field of Animation, which he earned for the movie Pocahontas. He has also won many Golden Globes and Saturn Awards, and the number of awards that he has at least been nominated for matches the number of awards he has won. Most recently, he was nominated for a PFCS in the category of Best Original Song for his song "Star Spangled Man" in the movie Captain America:The First Avenger. He also has received a star on the Walk of Fame.
Alan Menken also is the creator of several successful plays, such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, King David, and Sister Act.
To me, Alan Menken is admirable not only because of the many awards he has won, but also because of the hard work and dedication he put in to creating such memorable songs. He also is to be admired for his talent in music and sure genius when it comes to composing score. In addition to this, if one were to watch an interview or a performance done by Alan Menken, one would see just how much he loves what he does. He is not composing the music just for the money. He actually enjoys his job and he enjoys creating fantastic music.
